What is Helping Hands?
The World Health Organization estimates that 40 million amputees in under-resourced countries lack access to prosthetic care. With the average prosthetic costing around $7,000, this essential aid is often unavailable for those who need it most.
Participants will gain insight into the challenges faced by amputees and will build prosthetic hands that will empower individuals in over 80 countries. Designed by the Ellen Meadows Prosthetic Hand Foundation, these prosthetic hands are low-cost, lightweight, durable, and functional. They provide essential support for those in need and help reclaim their independence.
