What is Rise & Shine?
Each night, 789 million people are plunged into complete darkness since they don't have equal access to clean energy. They depend on primitive forms of energy like charcoal and firewood to ignite their way through the night. These forms of energy have a devastating impact on the health and well-being, economic stability, educational outcomes and the environment they live in.
Participants will learn about energy poverty and how it condemns 1.4 billion people around the world in terms of education, health, environment and economics. They will also find out how innovative design solutions can combat those four pillars of energy poverty.
We are supporting children who face energy poverty with needed solar lights. Each participant will assemble a solar light and write a message of support to a child living in energy poverty. At the end of this session, the solar lights are returned for quality assurance before its journey to a distribution country.
We ship the entire volunteer experience to your home, office, or other venue along with educational materials, packaging, prepaid shipping labels, and all the needed supplies.
