Give the Gift of Impact

It’s that time of year again, Holiday shopping time! You might be on the search for the “perfect” gift - but how about gifts that make an impact or are sustainable? Some may even call these the gifts that keep on giving. :)We’re surrounded by incredible companies and nonprofits on a daily basis who are working to make a difference year-round. So this year as you’re shopping for friends, family, employees, or even clients, consider some of these gift options. They’re sure to make an impact!

1. Plant Trees - or - Gifts that Plant Trees

This season, plant trees! Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Healthy, strong trees act as carbon sinks, offset carbon, and reduce the effects of climate change. With One Tree Planted you can plant trees in someone's name ($1.00 = 1 tree) or purchase awesome merchandise that plants trees for every purchase. Beanies, shirts, mugs, books, hats, they have it all!

2. Offset Their Carbon Footprint

Did you know that you can give someone the gift of carbon offsets? Yep! CarbonHero makes it easy to offset someone's carbon for a month, a few months, or even a full year. Simply fill out their carbon calculator, see how much carbon they emit, and sign up to offset all or a portion of it. Every action from individuals can help slow down climate change and drive a positive impact for our beautiful Earth.

3. Give Goats, Heifer, and More

Heifer International has an extensive list of fun and interesting gifts that can make a great impact! For example… did you know that on small farms, goats are often the key to a family's survival? Give a goat to a family in need. Along with training and education, each goat gift donation provides milk, cheese, and butter for nourishment, boosts income through sales of extra milk, and encourages better crop yields by creating fertilizer and clearing land. When you donate a gift in honor of someone, they’ll help you create a free honor card after your donation is complete. It's a great way to let the recipient know about the impact of the gift you made in their name!

4. Volunteer Experiences

Give the gift of giving! Volunteering doesn’t have to be complicated, HomeVolunteer delivers volunteer experiences directly to your door. Whether they’re passionate about planting trees, supporting underserved youth, or fighting food insecurity, they can choose from one of HomeVolunteer’s programs to reach their volunteer goals. Choose the value of your gift card that they can apply to any future HomeVolunteer purchase!

This is just a short list of the partners we work with, but there are hundreds (if not thousands!) of incredible organizations that offer gift options that give back. We hope you’ll consider making a gift of impact this Holiday season!

Cheers,
