A New Normal
Going virtual is as much about leveraging technology as it is about having the will to adapt. When Covid-19 prompted a wave of closures back in March, our in-person corporate volunteer events were put on hold. For a company largely reliant on face to face experiences, WeHero faced an imminent need to adapt.
Soon after the initial shutdown, WeHero launched a plan to continue delivering high impact volunteer experiences while working from home. These programs were built upon a desire to deliver support to critical programs, while simultaneously boosting team morale through uniting employees around a powerful cause. In true WeHero fashion, we wanted to ensure our remote experiences remained customizable – our events can be shipped to your employee’s homes, sent to a central location for pick up, or hosted entirely online.
It’s certainly been a crazy few months. While being physically apart, our remote events have given us the opportunity to come together and keep delivering impact. What started as a temporary fix to the cancellation of in-person experiences, has grown into a complete entity of its own. Since our initial offering of remote volunteer events, WeHero has partnered with over 10 different nonprofits, hosted an average of 5 events per week, and delivered an immeasurable degree of impact.
Given the technology, systems, and research in place, we suspect that the writing is on the wall for the future of remote work. Companies are coming to terms with the continuation of a remote reality, and workers are having to navigate new ways of connecting with colleagues they no longer see in-person every day. Our WeHero high impact remote volunteer experiences provide a platform for co-workers and companies to stay connected, engaged, and enabled to make a difference. While we do look forward to a time where we can once again gather safely for in-person volunteer events, we remain confident in our ability to adapt, adjust, and continue delivering impact remotely. Despite the many regulations, rules, and other obstacles, it’s been amazing to watch our community come together and give back.
As we continue our navigation of a COVID and post-COVID world, we are excited to further our innovation and support of your social impact goals.
Here’s to making an impact remotely!
Our mission is to give 10,000,000 people the tools to give and volunteer easily and effectively to make the greatest social impact possible. We’re incredibly excited to continue this work virtually! We thank all of the amazing companies who have already done remote volunteer events with us and those who will in the future. You make these initiatives possible.
