What is Education Access?

About the cause: 15 million kids in the United States come from families struggling with extreme poverty. If these students are lucky enough to attend school, they often don’t have the resources to purchase the necessary school supplies. WeHero alongside our corporate and non-profit partners are aggressively trying to resolve this issue, sourcing the necessary supplies to get these students successful in the classroom.

About the event: The Education Access Project is a WeHero Volunteer Event delivering kits that have the necessary school supplies to underprivileged students in your local community. The kits are designed to be fun and to inspire the kids to want to go to school and stay in school. You’ll be adding your own touch and message to each kit you create, drawing fun pictures on the bags, leaving letters of encouragement, and giving them a snapshot with a Polaroid so they can see the volunteer behind the gift of school supplies and education.

How Many Employees?

Select how many employees you would like to have participate in the Education Access event.

We Box It Up

Working with our non-profit partners we source all the necessary materials and activities, add easy to follow instructions, box it up, and ship it to you.

Have Your Event

We provide instructions, a video, and a pre-event call just to make sure you’re ready to go. Don’t worry, it’s easy and our team is always available for support.

Send It Back

We provide pre-paid shipping labels and boxes to make shipping everything back easy. Once the event is over, we send thank you letters and photos to each of your team members.

What does your DIY event come with?

  • Dedicated Event Coordinator
    After booking your event, you are assigned a WeHero event coordinator to support you with all items related to your event. We’re here to make sure your event is perfect!
  • Video and Instructions
    We provide a video presentation to share with your team as well as detailed instructions to have the perfect event!
  • School Supplies
    Each event contains many of the school supplies needed by under priviliged students. These supplies are very specific, and are sourced in relation to what the schools need in your community. Pencils, notebooks, crayons, globes, and more all go into the kit!
  • Sharpies
    There is an art component to this event. All of the school supplies go into canvas bags. Draw on the bags and make the education kit something truly special for a child.
  • Polaroid Camera
    These children are always so excited and moved that someone thought of them, and gave them a very special kit to go to school. Because this is so special to them, we send a Polaroid camera to take pictures to share of your team as they put the kits together.
  • Pre-paid Shipping Labels
    Shipping is easy! Attach the pre-paid shipping labels and UPS will pick your package up the day after your event.
  • Sign-in Form
    There’s more to this experience than meets the eye. We’ve provided a form for employees to leave their name and email so we can send you thank you email with details on the impact you created!

Education Access

WeHero DIY orders need to be made a minimum of 10 business days before the event date. This event will last for 60 – 90 minutes. If you’d like to have a longer event, have more than 50 participants or need rush shipping, get in touch with us here.

Am I able to call or email WeHero leading up to the event?

Yes! Our team is here and available to make sure your event is awesome. You’ll find we touch base regularly to make sure all goes smoothly.

Can a WeHero DIY event work for a large group of employees?

Absolutely. These events can scale with the size of your group. You can purchase the event for up to 50 employees directly on our website. If you have more than that, we can still accommodate your event with ease. Please reach out to companies@wehero.co

How do I go about getting budget for something like this?

Do I need to handle any of the shipping and is it an extra cost?

There is no additional charge for shipping. WeHero handles all of the shipping including having UPS pick up the completed kits from your office when your event is complete.
