Social impact has turned into a buzz-word in today’s society, but to WeHero, it drives every action and decision we make on behalf of our customers. Our corporate mission is to empower 10,000,000 with the tools to make an impact. (We know this is a big goal, but that’s our style!)

Unfortunately, the systems we’ve historically relied on to deliver social impact around the world are struggling. Nonprofits have long been seen as the engine to solve problems and improve society, yet this important group is at risk. Over 50% of non-profits have less than one month of runway and aren’t able to deliver the impact needed through individual support.
Now, more than ever, we need companies, and the talented individuals within them, to lead global social impact. It’s our belief that this will not only improve the world but also each individual company’s brand and culture.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility Philosophy
CSR can no longer be a division in a company. It needs to be embedded into a company’s culture. CSR leaders need a seat on the executive team and at the board table. Social responsibility can’t just be messaging, it needs to be action supported by the C-Suite.
Every employee needs to be involved. It takes more than one person (or even, executive) to make a difference. However, one person can empower an entire team to make an impact. Curated giving and volunteer experiences scale activation and engagement across companies. Individuals want to be part of the story. Have them help create the story and the team will follow.
Data > Dollars. Instead of broadcasting a donation amount, companies should be telling their employees the impact they were able to deliver. Not only do the companies need to adapt to this trend, but nonprofits need to be measuring the impact they can deliver. Goals should be based on total impact and not just dollars donated or volunteer hours completed.
Take volunteering one step further. Companies can’t rely on traditional volunteering and giving programs. Volunteer programs can’t just be a 60-minute event, they need to be a complete, holistic experience. Companies need to educate, prepare, and inspire their team to join the company mission and make an impact.
